Wow, I really have been remiss about updating here...I guess just so much has been happening, and it's been difficult to verbalize quite a bit of it. Not the best admission for a writing major, no, so I'll give it my best shot now.
Last week, after my "relaxing day" Tuesday, the whole world kicked into super-warp speed for me in not-so-fabulous ways. There was a meningitis scare at my school, and for a few days it looked as if I really had it. I had several symptoms and had been feeling like absolute junk for days and days...and after being sick for three weeks straight, adding possible meningitis to my load was not ideal. I was more scared than I've been in a while...a long while.
Anyway, all of that cleared up by Saturday...perfect timing since Saturday was my day to go to parades with Charity and Sylvia. That's right...Mardi Gras season just ended here in New Orleans. So I packed a change of clothes for church and a few essentials so I could just crash with them Saturday night...and thank goodness I did because I definitely didn't come home until late last night. I'll post in a little while and add a few pictures as well as a few...um...colorful...stories? Haha. There's nothing like Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Nothing at all. It was a fantastic weekend and I met some incredible people. More in a bit...triple promise.
