On sunburns and skin and life decisions

So sunburns could be the weirdest thing ever. Maybe not...I mean lampreys and black holes and gaucho pants are all definitely weirder, but sunburns are surely high up on that list, right?

After the Mardi Gras escapades over the weekend, I managed to get strange burns...an inverted triangle of red near my collar bone, a cuff of burnt skin on each forearm, and a ridiculously red nose (which has now started peeling, thank you very much). It's such a strange feeling, especially when the burns only cover small parts of your body. There's the tightness, the heat that radiates off, and then the inevitable peeling where you suddenly look like you're shedding a crazy alien exoskeleton or something. And of course I'm one of those people fascinated by the peeling, so I can never just leave it alone. There's something sort of appealing about showing off the new skin. Maybe that means something. Maybe.

In other news, I'm making some pretty earth-shattering, soul-searching decisions in these next few days...decisions that I feel way too young to be making but I find myself making nonetheless. I've decided, though, that there must be some things I'm too old for now. So here's my list so far:
*internet lingo ("kewl," "c u l8r," etc...this does not include phrases such as "lol")
*prom
*irridescent dresses (see above entry)
*green nail polish
*shirts with glittery messages like "princess" and "diva"
*all things Lisa Frank
*high school boys
*pale pink lipstick
*the way I treat guys I'm interested in...or I'm not interested in...how about the way I treat guys in general??
*not eating my vegetables
*pouting
*bubble gum flavored toothpaste
This list certainly isn't extensive, but I figure it's a start. Maybe if I keep adding to it, I'll feel old enough to make these crazy decisions. Or maybe I should just dedicate that time to actually working through this crap. Haha...procrastination at all costs.
